Villanelle

A Villanelle is a 19-line poem made up of five tercets and a final quatrain. It uses only two rhymes and repeats specific lines throughout the poem.

The wind remembers what the heart has said,
a song repeating softly through the years,
I walk the path where all my dreams have fled.

The dusk returns with words the stars once spread,
a murmur echoing through evening’s tears,

Though time may change the sky from gold to red,
the past still calls in tender souvenirs—
