Senryu

A senryu looks just like a haiku — it has three short lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second has 7, and the third has 5 again.

While haikus focus on nature, senryus are about people — their feelings, habits, and humor. They’re often funny or a little bit sarcastic. Some writers use fewer syllables, like a 3/5/3 pattern, as in the example below.
